Employer’s Liability

An employer is legally responsible for the health and safety of their employees whilst they are at work. Should an employee sustain an injury at work, they may try to claim compensation from their employer, who is likely to bear at least some legal responsibility. In order to ensure that companies have some insurance cover for this type of claim, most companies are obliged to have Employer’s liability insurance, which will allow them to meet the cost of any compensation claims that are received from employees who are injured at work.
